Newton's universal law of gravitation is a physical law that describes the attraction between two objects with mass. It is talked about in Isaac Newton's Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica.[1][2] The law is part of classical mechanics.

The formula is

[math]\displaystyle{ F_{g} = G \frac{m_1 m_2}{r^2}, }[/math]

In this equation:

In SI units, Template:Math is measured in newtons (N), Template:Math and Template:Math in kilograms (kg), Template:Math in metres (m), and the constant Template:Math is approximately equal to Template:Val.[3]
